Pasar Minggu Station, locally known as Stasiun Pasar Minggu is a commuter train station in the sub district of Pasar Minggu in southern Jakarta.

As you might of guessed, the station is named after the area in which it is located. Pasar Minggu is well known in Jakarta for its traditional markets.

Commuter Line Information for Pasar Minggu Station

Pasar Minggu Station is a popular stop on two different commuter lines in Jakarta – the Red Line and the Yellow Line.

The Red Line connects Jakarta Kota Station in Kota Tua (northern Jakarta) to Bogor Station in the south.

The Yellow Line connects Jatinegara Station in the north to Bogor, Depok and Nambo in the south.

The closest commuter station north of Pasar Minggu Station is Pasar Minggu Baru whereas the next station to the south is Tanjung Barat Station.

What is located around Stasiun Pasar Minggu in Jakarta?

Pasar Minggu Station is located in southern Jakarta.  

The area directly to the west of Pasar Minggu Station is well known by Jakartans for its local department stores and traditional produce markets.

Directly across the street from Pasar Minggu Station you will find Ramayana Robinson Department Store. This is an affordable local department store that has a wide selection of affordable clothing and shoes. It has a wide selection affordable products, but very little if you are looking for international luxury brands.

Directly beside Ramayan is Pasar Minggu Pasar.

This is a traditional market with some interesting merchandise. You will find street vendors in front of these market buildings and they sell everything thing from fresh drinks to locally grown fruits. It is very challenging to access anything to the east of Pasar Minggu Station due to the rail lines.

Although the area around Pasar Minggu Station is known for traditional local markets, it isn’t known for its accommodation choices.

There are very few quality hotels within walking distance of the Station.  The most positively reviewed place to stay near Pasar Minggu Station is a rental apartment called Siaga Raya 3 Villas and even this is not really within walking distance of the station!

Another closer and much cheaper option is Zen Rooms Pejaten Raya but this is not nearly as positively reviewed.

Pasar Minggu is a good area to check out some markets, but realistically most visitors to Jakarta would be much more comfortable staying at a hotel in Kemang and making a trip to Pasar Minggu for a few hours.
