Blok A MRT Station is one of the 13 stations of the Jakarta MRT Line or M1-North South Line. This is the first MRT line to be constructed in Jakarta.
Referred to as Stasiun MRT Blok A in Bahasa Indonesia, Blok A MRT Station is situated in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

MRT Jakarta Station Information
This MRT line services trains from Lebak Bulus MRT Station (which is located in South Jakarta) all the way to Bundaran HI MRT Station (located a few kilometers south of the Monas in Central Jakarta).
The first phase of the M1-North South MRT Line development has focused on 13 stations spanning a total distance of 15.7 km. The seven southernmost stations are above ground and Blok A MRT Station is one of them.
The six northernmost stations are underground as the trains travel through more modern areas such as Senayan, Sudirman, and Thamrin.

Once you board the train at Blok A MRT Station the next closest station that you will stop at to the south is Haji Nawi. The distance between Pasar Blok A and Haji Nawi is approximately 1.2 km.
If you are traveling north in the direction of the Monas from Pasar Blok A MRT Station, your next stop will be at Blok M Station.
The distance between Blok A and Blok M is also about 1.2 km. Therefore, you can expect it take a similar amount of time from Pasar Blok A to reach either one of its neighboring stations.

Lebak Bulus MRT Station is the closest terminal station relative to Pasar Blok A MRT Station. They are both located in South Jakarta, with Lebak Bulus being even further south.

Due to the fact that the Pasar Blok A MRT Station has been completed as part of the first-ever MRT line in Jakarta (and Indonesia), there are currently no other lines nearby. What is around Blok A MRT Station?
The direct area around the Pasar Blok A MRT Station is not particularly well known for sights or attractions, but nearby Dharmawangsa is, however.
Dharmawangsa is an area a few hundred meters to the northeast of the station has some great restaurants and a nice little mall.
Once you arrive at Blok A MRT Station, you will notice that the area right around the station mainly consists of mid-sized commercial shops along the street and pockets of residential neighborhoods off of the main road.
Shopping Mall near Blok A Station
Walk or drive about 700 meters northeast to Dharmawangsa Square. A nice little mall that consists of quality cafes, high-end products, and dental and health clinics. It is a convenient local mall for affluent Dharmawangsa residents.

The Dharmawangsa area near Blok A MRT Station is also well known for one of Jakarta’s best hotels – The Dharmawangsa Hotel. It is about 1.9 km northeast of the station. On most booking sites it typically receives 9/10 ratings from verified guests.
Another nice property not too far from Blok A MRT Station is The 1O1 Jakarta Sedayu Darmawangsa Hotel (1.1 km/ 13 minutes walk) (shown in photo above).
It is much cheaper than The Dharmawangsa Hotel which might be a better fit for your budget.

Blok M and Kemang are Nearby
Blok A MRT Station is also only a few kilometers away from some of Jakarta’s most popular districts – Blok M and Kemang. They are popular for different reasons, however.
Blok M is a textile shopping area. It’s very popular with locals looking for affordable products and of course, Batik! It consists of 4 or 5 malls clustered near Blok M MRT Station – the closest station to to the north of Pasar Blok A MRT Station.
Kemang is popular with upper and middle-class Jakartans as well as expats living in the city. It is lined with excellent restaurants, pubs and designer shops.
Lippo Mall Kemang is also a popular shopping center in Kemang with a cinema and a nice outdoor dining area called Avenue of the Stars.
When you first get out of Blok A MRT Station you might think to yourself that there is not much to do. But if you travel to Dharmawangsa, Blok M or Kemang you will have much more choice in terms of shopping, dining and socializing.
