Commuter Line Information for Depok Station

Depok is a city which is located south of Jakarta. Depok Station is a popular stop on two of Jakarta’s public transport commuter lines, the Red Line and the Yellow Line.

The Red Line connects Jakarta Kota Station in Kota Tua to Bogor Station in the south.

The Yellow commuter lines connects passengers between Jatinegara Station and Bogor, Nambo and Depok in the south.

If you are travelling from Depok Station and heading south then the next station that you will reach is Citayam Station.

Citayam Station is approximately 5 km south of Depok Station.  

If you are travelling north towards Jakarta on these commuter lines then the next station is Depok Baru Station.

What is located around Stasiun Depok?

The area around Stasiun Depok isn’t well known for major attractions, but there is a nice park within walking distance.  

The park is locally called ‘Taman Hutan Raya cagar alam Cagar Alam’ and it is located about 500 meters southwest of Depok Station.

About 1 km north of Depok Station you will come across the Transmart Carrefour – a popular shopping center in Depok.

Since Depok Station is quite far from central Jakarta, there are far fewer accommodation options than surrounding most commuter stations.

The closest apartment that can be rented on reputable booking sites is Apartment Margonda Residence 3. This is actually located closer to Depok Baru Station, opposed to Depok Station though.  

Remember not to confuse these two names!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Depok, then you might want to stay closer to Depok Baru Station.  There are quite a few apartments and some reputable hotels such as Santika Hotel Depok that you might find more convenient in this area.

The area around Depok Station has quite a traditional Indonesian feel to it, so if you want to see some neighbourhoods that are untouched by tourism this is not a bad place to explore.
