Klender Station, also called Stasiun Klender in Bahasa Indonesia, is a commuter station situated in East Jakarta.

To put its location into perspective, it is about 10.5 km to the south east of the Monas – Indonesia’s National Monument.

Commuter Line Information for Klender Station

Klender a stop on the Blue Line which services trains from Jakarta Kota Station (which is in the colonial district of West Jakarta) all the way to Cikarang Station.

It is the ninth station on the Blue Line south of Jakarta Kota Station and also the ninth station from Cikarang.

If you are travelling from Jakarta Kota Station to Klender Station you can anticipate that a typical ride will take you anywhere from 40 minutes to slightly over an hour.

In the opposite direction from Cikarang to Klender, expect it to take anywhere from 45 minutes to just over an hour as well. The journey time will vary depending on which train you board, how many people are getting off and on the train, and the number of stops made along the way.

Transfer Information for Klender Station

It is not possible to transfer to another commuter line at Klender Station.

Fortunately, however, it is in a convenient location only one stop over from Jatinegara Station, and two stops away from Manggarai Station.

Jatinegara Station enables passengers to transfer to the Yellow (Bogor-Jatinegara Line).

By travelling north on the Yellow Line you will be able to easily access popular stations such as Pasar Senen and Kampung Bandan.

If you travel two stations over to Manggarai you will be able to transfer to both the Yellow and Red Lines in the network.

This will allow you to travel south to Bogor, Nambo or Depok, or east to Tanah Abang and Duri. Needless to say, Manggarai is one of the most strategic stations in the entire commuter system.

If you are starting your train ride at Klender Station and you want to travel north west towards Kota Tua and Jakarta Kota Station on the Blue Line, the closest station you will stop at is Jatinegara Station (which is popular due to its markets). The distance between them is about 3.4 km.

If you keep travelling beyond Klender Station farther away from central Jakarta, then the next closest station is Buaran Station.

The distance between Klender and Buaran is 3.1 km. Therefore, with only 300 meters difference between Klender and its two adjacent stations, you can expect it to take a similar amount of time in either direction.

What is located around Stasiun Klender in Jakarta?

The direct area around Stasiun Klender isn’t particularly well known for major attractions. This is mainly because it is south east of central Jakarta.

There are some convenient shopping options located very close to the station, however.

Citra Mall Klender is small a shopping center that is only around 400 meters east of Klender Station. You can easily walk there in under 5 minutes from the station.

Pasar Klender Lama – a traditional produce market, is even closer to the station. It is only 200 meters away to the north west of Klender Station which should take you only about 2 minutes to walk there.

If you are not satisfied with Pasar Klender Lama, you can walk about 750 meters south of Klender Station to Pasar Deprok. This is also a traditional produce market with local fruits, vegetables and other goods.

The area around Klender Station isn’t the best if you are looking for accomodation.

There are a few small hotels a few kilometers away such as Aryani Suites (about 2.5 km away from the station, an 8-minute drive) and RedDoorz @ Klender (2.1 km/7 minute drive) but no real top rated properties.

2BR Casablanca East Residences – Joe 2, and  Casablanca East residence (AP) (1.5 km/18 minute walk).

If you are looking for something with higher service standards then try to move closer to central Jakarta where there are far more properties to choose from.

The driving distance from Klender Station to Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport is around 10 kilometers and this should take you around 25 minutes to 40 minutes depending on traffic.
