What is located around Stasiun Buaran in Jakarta?
Since Stasiun Buaran is well over 10 km away from central Jakarta, the Monas and its surrounding attractions, don’t expect major attractions in this area.
Actually, the direct area around the station doesn’t offer much in terms or shopping or sightseeing in comparison to other stations on the Blue Line.
There is one shopping mall within walking distance of Buaran Station called Buaran Plaza.
It’s a small mall with some restaurants choices to go along with some stores. You can walk to Buaran Plaza from the station in less than 10 minutes because it is only 700 meters southwest of the station. If you continue further south of Buaran Plaza you will pass some additional restaurants.
Aside from the mall, the area around the station mainly consists of residential space and some small local shops and restaurants.
Staying in this part of the city is not the most convenient if you are looking for 5-star standards for service and room quality. There are very few international hotels close to Buaran Station. Instead you will find some apartments and local hotel chains such as RedDoorz. There are also some long term rental properties for local workers.
For better choices, try to get closer to central Jakarta where there are far more 3, 4 and 5-star properties to choose from. Staying closer to central Jakarta will also make it much easier and more convenient to access attractions and shopping malls in the city.
