Bekasi Timur Station, also called Stasiun Bekasi Timur in Bahasa Indonesia, is a commuter station which is located about 24 km southeast of the Monas. It is situated in a city called Bekasi, a city that is populated by many workers who work in Jakarta on a daily basis.

Bekasi Timur a stop on the Blue Commuter Line which which services daily trains from Jakarta Kota Station (located in Kota Tua – the old colonial Dutch district) all the way to Cikarang Station (southeast of the city).

It is the 15th station south of Jakarta Kota Station and the 3rd station from the Cikarang terminal end of the Blue Line.

Bekasi Timur Station is geographically closer to Cikarang. Therefore, it will take you less time from that end of the Blue Line in comparison to Kota Tua.

Transfer Information for Bekasi Timur Station

Bekasi Timur Station is not a transfer station on the Blue Line.

If you want to access the other commuter lines you will have to travel back closer to Jakarta and stop at either Jatinegara or Manggarai Station.

If you stop at Jatinegara, you can get out of the station and simply walk to two interesting markets – Jatinegara Market and the Jakarta Gem Market. You will also have the choice there to transfer to the Yellow Line (Bogor-Jatinegara Line). Travelling north on the Yellow Line will allow you to access Pasar Senen.

If you go one station past Jatinegara you will stop at one of the busiest stations in the entire commuter system – Manggarai Station.

While at Manggarai you have the chance to transfer to either the Red or Yellow Line.

With the Blue, Red and Yellow Lines intersecting here you will have lots of choices of where to visit next. If you travel south you could visit Bogor, Nambo or Depok. If you travel east you could visit Tanah Abang. If you travel north you will move back towards the Monas and Kota Tua.

What is located around Stasiun Bekasi Timur?

The area around Stasiun Bekasi Timur has less development than its neighbouring station, Bekasi, but more than most of the other stations in this region of the Blue Line.

The area around Bekasi Timur Station isn’t well known for attractions, but you will find various shopping centers to the south of the station. To the north of the station you will mainly find mainly residential neighbourhoods.

About 800 meters south of the station you will find Carrefour DC Bekasi – a large department store. You can either walk or drive there from Bekasi Timur Station in 10 minutes or less.

West of Carrefour DC Bekasi there is a bustling market called Raharjo that you might want to check out. It is a 650 meter walk south of Bekasi Timur Station which should also take you less than 10 minutes to get there.

If you continue further south, there are two more shopping centers of interest – Bekasi Town Square Modern Market (locally known as Pasar Modern Bekasi Town Square) and Blu Plaza. They are both located about 2.5 km southwest of the station. It should take you about a 10 minute drive to either one of them.

If you want to access even more shopping malls from Bekasi Timur Station then drive about 5.4 km to the southwest.
