Poins Square in Lebak Bulus Jakarta is a popular, budget-friendly shopping mall. Unlike many luxury shopping malls throughout Jakarta, Poins Square specializes in affordable products that are marketed towards middle and working class Jakartans.

It is quite far from the ‘central’ sightseeing area of the city. To put its location into perspective, it is situated about 15.5 km southwest of the Monas and 7 km northwest of Ragunan Zoo. They now have feeder buses that transport passengers to Lebak Bulus MRT Station as well. 

If you are staying at a hotel in Central Jakarta the best way (by far) to access Poins Square is to take the MRT south to the terminal station.

The closest shopping center relative to Poins Square is Carrefour Lebak Bulus. This consists of a large grocery store, a good children’s playing area and multiple affordable restaurants. It is a 5-minute walk from Poins.

You can also visit Pondok Indah Mall in South Jakarta. When traffic is light, it is only about a 5-minute drive from Poins Square. If traffic is heavy it can take up to 20 minutes. The InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah is a solid accommodation option that is physically connected to Pondok Indah 2 Mall.

You can expect Poins Square to become busier over the next few years. The reason for this is the opening of the MRT in Jakarta. You can walk from Lebak Bulus Station to the entrance of Poins Square in 5 minutes (or even less). It will be interesting to see if the management decides to renovate because of this change!

This is actually one of Jakarta’s more ‘dated’ shopping malls. Don’t expect a brand new shopping experience with sparkling floors and modern atria.
