Commuter Line Information for Rawa Buaya Station

It is the sixth station on the Brown Commuter Line if you are heading from Duri Station all the way in the westerly direction to Tangerang Station.

Once you arrive at Rawa Buaya Station is not possible to transfer to another commuter line.

This station is only part of the Duri-Tangerang Brown Line.

Travel east to Duri Station if you want to transfer lines. You can transfer to the Yellow Line from the Brown Line at Duri.

The Yellow Line is quite popular with with people living in Jakarta because it can be used to bypass the traffic clogged roads that connect central Jakarta to southern destinations such as Depok, Bogor and Nambo.

You can also travel in the northern direction on the Yellow Line and loop around to popular markets areas such as Pasar Senen and Jatinegara which are on the eastern side of central Jakarta.

If you go towards central Jakarta on the Yellow Line from Rawa Buaya Station then the next closest station that you will come across is Bojong Indah Station.

The distance between these two stations is only 1.1 km. Therefore, it won’t take you long to get from one to the other.

If you travel west from Rawa Buaya Station towards Tangerang, then the next station that you will come across is Kali Deres Station. Kali Deres Station is about 2.5 km west of Stasiun Rawa Buaya.

What is located around Stasiun Rawa Buaya?

Stasiun Rawa Buaya is about 13.5 km away from the Monas and other sights to see in the central region of Jakarta. This area is not particularly well known or popular with tourists. Therefore, don’t expect major highlights in this area.

But you will get a chance to experience the local culture.

One of the most interesting markets near the station is actually a farmer’s market. It is called Pasar Sayur Rawa Buaya. It is about 1 1.5 km drive north of the station. Expect a very traditional, informal selection of local vegetables.

There is also a shopping center called Mall Matahari Daan Mogot within driving distance of  Rawa Buaya Station. It’s about 5 km northwest of the station which should take you about 25 minutes to drive there (traffic permitting).

If you are planning on staying near Rawa Buaya Station then your choices will be quite limited.

There are really only two reasonable hotel choices near the station:

Couleur Hotel Cengkareng.

Both of these are quite affordable and they receive fairly positive guest review scores.

Probably the most practical decision, however, if you are visiting the city is to stay closer to central Jakarta where there are much better hotels and services available.

Some of the better choices include the Mandarin Oriental, Hotel Kempinski Indonesia and the Grand Hyatt. The area around Rawa Buaya Station is quite local, which is great for culture lovers, but also somewhat limited if you are looking for international hotel chains.
