Kampung Bandan Station is a stop on two of Jakarta’s commuter lines: the Yellow Line and the Pink Line.

The Pink Line is much shorter than the Yellow Line and it connects Tanjung Priok Station to Jakarta Kota Station in Kota Tua.

The Pink Line only consists of four stations. Running from east to west they include: Tanjung Priok Station, Ancol Station, Kampung Bandan Station, and Jakarta Kota Station.

The Yellow Line is much, much longer and it connects Jatinegara Station to Bogor, Nambo and Depok in the south. The Yellow Line is arguably the most popular line in the entire commuter system because it ‘loops’ around Jakarta before heading south to Bogor.

You can easily visit Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Kota Tua (and it’s surrounding museums, cafes and markets), Sunda Kelapa and the 1000 Islands from the station. All you need to do is arrange a short ride.

It is also conveniently located within walking distance to some of Jakarta’s best budget shopping malls in Mangga Dua.

Traditionally, Mangga Dua has also been well known for well-priced accommodation choices.

If you have the energy and it isn’t too hot out, consider walking from Kampung Bandan Station all the way to Taman Impian Jaya Ancol.

This is arguably Jakarta’s most popular theme park.  It’s about 2.5 km away from Station, so if you decide to walk it should take you about 25 minutes. Expect it to take a similar amount of time, or even longer if you are driving in a car.

If you want to check out the traditional schooners in Sunda Kelapa Harbour, expect it to take you about 35 minutes with moderate traffic.  It is about 4 kilometers away from Kampung Bandan Station.

Since Kampung Bandan Station is only 1 stop away from Jakarta Kota Station, it is really convenient to explore Kota Tua if you are in this area. Fatahillah Square is about a 25 minute (2.3 km) walk from Kampung Bandan Station. This is the central square of Kota Tua and the heart of the colonial area.

From Fatahillah Square, you will have perfect access to all the surrounding museums, cafes and markets.

Also, if you are interested in checking out a few of the 1000 Islands you can get a drive to the pier which is about 3 kilometers away from Kampung Bandan Station.

Kampung Bandan Station’s proximity to some of Jakarta’s best budget and electronic malls makes it a great area to stay if you are interested in buying a few things.

It is only 900 meters away from WTC Mangga Dua. This is less than a ten minute walk. Slightly further south is Mangga Dua Square.  It is only 1 kilometer from Kampung Bandan Station and ten minutes by foot.

ITC Mangga Dua, Mangga Dua Mall and Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua are also excellent shopping centers if you are looking for bargains. They are all about 1 km from Stasiun Kampung Bandan. This should take you about 10 minutes to walk or a similar amount of time to drive.
