Commuter Line Information for Pesing Station

Pesing is the third station on Jakarta’s Brown Commuter Line as you travel from Duri Station (located closer to central Jakarta) westward towards Tangerang Station.

Pesing Station is not a transfer station.

It is only part of the Brown Line.  Therefore, if you want to transfer to the Yellow Line you will have to travel two stations east to Duri Station.

When you arrive at Duri Station is it possible to travel all the way south to destinations such as Depok, Bogor and Nambo on the Yellow Line.

You can also travel north on the Yellow Line from Duri Station and loop around to popular market areas in east Jakarta like Pasar Senen and Jatinegara. Both of these spots are really popular with locals staying in Jakarta.

If you travel from central Jakarta toward Tangerang, the closest station next to Pesing Station in the westerly direction is Taman Kota Station.

The distance between Pesing Station and Taman Kota Station is only about 1.5 km.

The next closest station in the eastern direction is Grogol Station. The distance between these stations is a bit farther at around 2 km.

If you get off at Grogol Station considering going to Pasar Grogol or Seasons City Mall. They are both under 1.5 km from the station.

What is located around Stasiun Pesing?

Stasiun Pesing, unfortunately, is not particularly close to Jakarta’s top attractions like the Monas, Kota Tua, Ragunan Zoo or Ancol.

It isn’t very popular with foreign tourists or expats in Jakarta.

But you will get a taste of local life in this area of the city.  

One of the most interesting areas to check out is around Pasar Kedoya.

This is a traditional market with lots of affordable products up for grabs. The street area around Pasar Kedoya is also lined with local fruit stalls selling everything from red dragon fruit to mangos. Expect good prices here if you are up for bargaining. This area is called Pasar Pesing.

If these local markets don’t have what you are looking for you could also travel one station east to Grogol Station. From there you can easily get to Pasar Grogol or Seasons City Mall. The both happen to be quite close to the Station (under 1.5 km away).

Pasar Grogol is also a traditional market, whereas Seasons City Mall has a grocery store, cinema and a wide variety of different brands.

The direct area around Stasiun Pesing doesn’t have too many accommodation options. Therefore, you might have to commute to reach some quality properties.

The closest 5-star property is Pullman Jakarta Central Park Hotel. This is an excellent hotel with great amenities. The distance from Pullman Jakarta Central Park Hotel to Station Pesing is about 3.8 km. It is also positively reviewed by guests.

Another good option, in the 4-star range is Hotel Ciputra Jakarta. It is usually around half the price of the Pullman and also only about 3 km away from Pesing Station.

If you head in the eastern direction towards central Jakarta, then you will have a lot more options in terms of finding quality accommodation choices. Therefore, consider staying in central Jakarta and exploring this area as part of a day trip if you are visiting the city.
