Parung Panjang Station, also known as Stasiun Parung Panjang in Bahasa Indonesia to locals, is a commuter station situated in Panjang Parung, Bogor, West Java.

It is located about 40 km southwest of the Monas.

The Monas is located right in central Jakarta, therefore it is quite far from the central business district and some of the popular museums in the city.

Parung Panjang Station is one of the stations on the Green Commuter Line which services trains from Tanah Abang Station (3 km southwest of the Monas) to Rangkasbitung Station (about 85 km southwest of the Monas).

If you start at Tanah Abang, then Parung Panjang Station is the 10th stop on the Green Line.

If you are planning on taking the commuter from Tanah Abang to Parung Panjang expect your ride to take approximately 58 minutes.

Transfer Information for Parung Panjang Station

Due to its location well away from central Jakarta, Parung Panjang Station isn’t close to another rail line.

You won’t be able to transfer train lines here!

Instead you will have to travel towards Tanah Abang Station. This is the next transfer station on the Green Line.

Tanah Abang Station allows passengers to transfer from the Green Line to the Yellow (Bogor-Jatinegara) Line or vice versa.

You can take the Yellow Line south to Bogor, Nambo and Depok.

Alternatively, you can pass by popular areas such as Kota Tua, Ancol, Mangga Dua, Pasar Senen and Jatinegara when you travel north and then west.

Regardless of which direction you are travelling, always try to avoid heavy rush hour periods on the roads and trains in Jakarta. The road traffic can get insane, but the trains can also get super jam-packed!

Closest Stations to Parung Panjang

The next closest station to the east of Parung Panjang is Cicayur Station. The approximate distance between these two commuter stations is 6 km.

If you decide to travel on the Green Line towards Rangkasbitung Station, the closest station to Parung Panjang is Cilejit.

Surprisingly, the distance between these two stations is even greater at 7 km. You can expect it to take just a minute or two longer to reach Cilejit than Cicayur if you are starting your trip at Parung Panjang Station.

What is located around Stasiun Parung Panjang?

Stasiun Parung Panjang is not really close to central Jakarta.

If you do get off at the station then you might want to check out Pasar Parung Panjang – a traditional local market (don’t expect it to be really clean). It is only 140 meters to the northeast of the station which should take you less than two minutes to walk there.

If you want to do some shopping at a mall, then most practical option is to take the Green Line in the direction of Tanah Abang (two stations over) to Ciasuk Station.  

From there you can get a short drive to Aeon Mall BSD City which is about a 7 minute, 2.7 km ride north of the station.

You will also notice that there are very few accommodation options in this area.

As you get farther away from central Jakarta, hotels tend to get more spread out.

Due to its rural location you will most likely have to travel a bit closer to Jakarta to access most hotels.

One of the best options is the 4-star Hotel Santika Premiere ICE – BSD City. It is about 11.7 km away from the station, which should take you about 35 minutes to reach there by car. This hotel is also quite close to the Aeon Mall BSD City which is convenient.
