Commuter Line Information for Tenjo Station

Tenjo is a stop on the Green Commuter Line.

The Green Line has trains operating from Tanah Abang Station (situated about 3 km southwest of the Monas) to Rangkasbitung Station (situated about 85 km southwest of the Monas).

If begin your trip at Tanah Abang Station, then Daru is the 13th station along the line.

Under normal circumstances, the train ride from Tanah Abang to Tenjo Station typically takes 1 hour and 16 minutes (76 minutes).

Expect this travel time to vary depending on when you board the train, and what train you get on.

Transfer Information for Tenjo Station

Due to Tenjo Station’s location well away from central Jakarta, it isn’t possible to transfer to another train line while you are at this station.

Instead, you will have to travel northeast on the Green Line to Tanah Abang Station.

From Tanah Abang you can access the Yellow (Bogor-Jatinegara) Line.

If you travel north on the Yellow Line you will be able to access the following popular areas: Kota Tua, Ancol, Mangga Dua, Pasar Senen and Jatinegara.

Most of these are popular with commuters because of shopping opportunities (markets and malls).

Ancol, on the other hand, is especially popular with families due its theme park.

You can travel south on Yellow Line to join many passengers as they go to destinations in the south such as Bogor, Nambo and Depok. Always expect trains on the Yellow Line to be very busy with passengers during peak travel times.

Closest Stations to Tenjo

If you start your trip at Tenjo and you are head in the direction of Tanah Abang on the Green Line, the next closest station that you will stop at is Daru Station.

The distance between these two stations is about 3.9 km.

Alternatively, if you begin at Tenjo and move towards Rangkasbitung Station, then your next stop will be at Tigaraksa.

The distance between Tenjo and Tigaraksa Station is about 2.9 km.

You can expect it to take a minute or two longer to reach Daru than Tigaraksa if you are starting at Tenjo Station.

What is located around Stasiun Tenjo?

Due to its location outside of Jakarta, Stasiun Tenjo is primarily surrounded by greenspace and pockets of small residential neighbourhoods.

You will also find some small local stores and shops.

To the south of the station there is a road lined with fruit vendors and food shops.

About 300 meters southeast of the station there is a market called Pasar Rakyat Tenjo.

You will have to cross the train tracks at a safe time to get there from the station. You can walk there from the station.

You can also expect very few hotels in this undeveloped area.

You might want to try to stay closer to Jakarta if you are looking for quality service and amenities.
