Commuter Line Information for Grogol Station

Grogol is a stop on Jakarta’s Brown Commuter Line that connects Tangerang Station to the west of Jakarta with Duri Station (located closer to central Jakarta).

Since Grogol Station is a stop on only the Brown Line of Jakarta’s public transport system it isn’t possible to transfer at this station.

It is possible, however, to transfer to the Yellow Line by simply travelling one station northeast to Duri Station.

Once at Duri Station you can travel all the way south to destinations such as Depok, Bogor and Nambo on the Yellow Line. You can also travel north on the Yellow Line from Duri Station and loop around to popular market areas in east Jakarta like Pasar Senen and Jatinegara.

If you are heading towards central Jakarta on the Brown Line then the next closest Station is Duri Station. It is only 1.7 km northeast of Grogol Station.

What is located around Stasiun Grogol?

Stasiun Grogol is not located directly near Jakarta’s top attractions.  But it isn’t too far away from a few shopping malls and local markets that might interest you if you are staying nearby.

Probably the best market near Grogol Station is Pasar Jaya Pasar Grogol.

This is an affordable market for local raw foods. It is also pretty close to the Station. It is about a 6 minute drive or a 12 minute walk east of Grogol. The distance between Pasar Grogol and Grogol Station is only about 1.3 km.

If you are interested in doing some more shopping or eating out, then you could also go to Seasons City Mall. It is only about 1.5 km northeast of Grogol Station. Therefore, this should take you about 10 minutes to drive, or about 15 minutes to walk between them.

Seasons City Mall also has a Carrefour and a cinema. Both of these are popular with locals.

There is also another small shopping mall to the southeast of Grogol Station called Roxy Square.

This is a bit farther away from the Station though so it expect to take you a bit longer to get there. Roxy Square is about a 3.5 km drive from Grogol Station and this should take you about 20 minutes.

The area directly around Grogol Station isn’t particularly well known for international hotel chains.

If you want to stay close to Grogol Station then Hotel Ciputra Jakarta is definitely one of the best options. It is a four-star property and only 1.3 km away from the station.

Another good, and more affordable option is Maple Hotel Grogol. It is a 3-star property and located around 1.4 km away from Grogol Station.

The Tropic Penthouse Apartment Grogol is an option to consider if you want more space while visiting the city. It is about 1.2 km away from Stasiun Grogol.
