Commuter Line Information for Serpong Station

Stasiun Serpong is a stop on the Green Commuter Line.

This line services trains from Rangkasbitung Station (situated approximately 85 km to the southwest of central Jakarta) all the way to Tanah Abang Station (the closest station on the Green Line to the central area of Jakarta).

If you start at Tanah Abang Station and decide to travel towards Rangkasbitung Station, then Serpong is the seventh station on the Green Line.

It usually takes just under 40 minutes to travel from Tanah Abang Station all the way to Serpong Station.

Transfer Information for Serpong Station

Due to its location, far away from central Jakarta there are no other commuter lines in the direct vicinity of this station.

It is not possible to transfer to another line at Serpong.

The next closest transfer station to Serpong is Tanah Abang Station.

To get to Tanah Abang, just simply travel northeast on the Green Line. Once you arrive there, you can transfer to the Yellow (Bogor-Jatinegara) Line.

You can access Bogor, Nambo and Depok by taking the Yellow Line south. Expect very busy commuter trains at this time as well though.

The commuter is a cheap, but often busy alternative to Jakarta’s jams.

You can also travel north on the Yellow Line.

If you head north you will pass the Kota Tua area and Ancol area.

Staying on the train will enable you to eventually stop at popular markets such as Pasar Senen and Pasar Jatinegara. You can simply walk these from their respective commuter stations.

Closest Stations to Serpong

Rawa Buntu Station is the closest station to the east of Serpong. The distance between these two stations is only about 2.4 km.

Alternatively, if you are travelling towards Rangkasbitung Station the closest station to Serpong is Cisauk Station.  

The distance between these two stations is even closer at 1.7 km.

Expect it to be a bit faster to reach Cisauk if you are starting at Serpong Station.

What is located around Stasiun Serpong?

Stasiun Serpong is located in an area that sees very few domestic and international tourists, but there are some quality shopping options not too far from the station

If you arrive at Serpong Station you will be within 4 or 5 km of some good shopping malls.

Aeon Mall BSD City, for instance is a large shopping centre that is about 5 km northwest of Serpong Station. It should take you about 10-15 minutes to drive there.

Teras Kota BSD is another mall about 4 km north of Stasiun Serpong. It should take you roughly 15 minutes to drive there from the station.

About 1 more km north of Teras Kota BSD there is another shopping mall called ICT BSD.

If you are in this area with children then consider spending the day at Ocean Park BSD Serpong.

This is a waterpark that is oriented towards families.

If you want a cultural experience then walk 250 meters west from Stasiun Serpong to Pasar Tumaritis Serpong. You will find local vendors selling local produce, but don’t expect it to be the cleanest market you have seen.

Alternatively, walk 550 meters southwest of Serpong Station to Pasar Serpong. This is a busy market area with a large selection of affordable products.

The direct area around Serpong Station has very few quality hotels, but about 5 km north of the station you will find a pretty good selection of 3 and 4-star properties to choose from.
