Tebet Station, locally known as Stasiun Tebet in Bahasa Indonesia is a commuter train station located in a sub district of southern Jakarta called ‘Tebet’.  Therefore, the station is named after the region it is located in.

Commuter Line Information for Tebet Station

Tebet Station is a stop on two different lines that are part of Jakarta’s commuter train

network:

1) The Yellow Line which services trains from Jatinegara Station in the north to Bogor, Depok and Nambo in the south.

2) The Red Line which connects Jakarta Kota in the north to Bogor in the south.

Tebet Station is located to the east of Kuningan and its series of popular malls.  

The next station to the south of Tebet Station along the Red and Yellow Line commuter line is Cawang Station. Only 1.3 km separates them.

To the north, the next closest station is Manggarai. You can go there to transfer between the Yellow, Red and Blue Commuter Lines.

What is located around Stasiun Tebet in Jakarta?

Tebet Station is not surrounded by very many tourist attractions, but it is located within 2 kilometers of one of Jakarta’s most trending malls – Kota Kasablanka.  

To get there from the station you can drive 6 minutes in a car or walk there in about 25 minutes.

Kota Kasablanka is not the only shopping mall worth visiting near Tebet Station.

If you drive a few more kilometers further west you will also have the opportunity to see Mall Ambassador, Kuningan City, ITC Kuningan and Lotte Shopping Avenue.

Plaza Festival and Setiabudi One are also popular malls that are in this same area, although a bit further north.

Due to the high concentration of these shopping malls, surrounding restaurants and excellent hotels in Kuningan, this is one of the best areas for visitors of Jakarta to stay in while sightseeing.

If you are visiting the city, then it’s probably more practical to stay in the direct vicinity of these malls opposed to staying right near Tebet Station.  

One of the best hotels near Tebet Station is HARRIS Hotel Tebet.  

It is about 1 kilometer to the east of Tebet Station and it should take you about 15 minutes to walk there, or a 5 minute short drive. But as mentioned before, it’s probably worthwhile to stay closer to the malls and by doing so you will be able to choose from some of the best hotels in all of Jakarta.   

Some of the most positively reviewed hotels in this area of Kuningan include:

The Park Lane Jakarta (located right beside Kota Kasablanka Mall), The Westin Jakarta (located just south of Plaza Festival)

Raffles Jakarta (arguably the nicest hotel in all of Jakarta and it’s located in the very same building as Lotte Shopping Avenue)

Oakwood Premier Cozmo Jakarta (located in Mega Kuningan beside some of the best restaurants in Jakarta)

JW Marriot Jakarta Hotel (also in Mega Kuningan).  

This list does not include all of the hotels in Kuningan but it does list most of the good ones around the shopping malls.

To the east of Tebet Station you won’t find too many hotels or places to stay, therefore it makes more sense to stay to the west of the station which will allow you to access other areas like Sudirman and Senayan much easier.
